Week of February 1-5, 2016

Writing:

This is the 5th week of the 4th six weeks.  We will continue with procedural writing.  Remember that transition words are very important  when wring a procedure piece. Lets continue to have fun while writing.  Also, book reports for the 4th six weeks are due this Wednesday. Please do not wait until the last minute to complete your assignments.  Looking forward to see the outcome of your hard work and dedication!

Writing:

We will continue to work on the procedural essay.  Use of transition words is very important when trying to convey a message using chronological or numerical order.  The following websites will help you have a better understanding of how to use transition words. Also I have included a list of transition words. Please familiarize with them since you will be using them during the week.

Week of Jan. 18-22


Writing:

This week we will start procedural writing.  Procedural writing defines or instructs the reader regarding the steps to accomplish a task. So, lets get ready to ready to explain steps in logical or chronological order in order to accomplish a task.

Make sure that you turn in all assignments on time. Remember that progress reports will be going out next week.  Also, make sure that you continue to read your novels, book reports are due on Feb 3rd.

Week of Jan. 11-15, 2016

Writing:

During the week we will continue to work on our expository (informative and why) essay. Having a good starter for each development strategy. Please make sure that you continue to turn in all assignments on time.  Remember that the 4th six weeks book report is due on Feb. 3rd.

Week of January 6-8

Writing: 

Welcome back student!!! It is the begging of the second semester an also of the 4th six weeks. I hope we are all well rested and ready to learn.  Remember that we will be having many activities during this semester. There is no time to waist.  STAAR test is just around the corner and we all need to focus on mastering all objectives.  Lets be an task at all times and remember to always turn in all assignments. This week we will be going over conclusions  for our expository essay.
